Bakeblock is a small service run by Dany in North Carolina, United States. It lets home bakers open an online shop and lets their neighbors order and pay ahead for pickup. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. Questions go to contact@bakeblock.app.
What we collect
If you run a shop:
- Your email address and password. Passwords are handled by our login provider and we never see them in plain text.
- Your shop details: name, link, description, photos, products, prices, quantities, and pickup times.
- Payout details you give Stripe when you connect payments. Stripe holds your bank and identity details, not us.
If you order from a shop:
- Your name, email address, and phone number, so the baker can confirm your order and reach you about pickup.
- What you ordered, the total, the pickup time you chose, and the order's status.
- Card details go straight to Stripe. Bakeblock never sees or stores your full card number.
If you sign up for porch light alerts: your email address and which shop you follow. You confirm by email before we send anything, and every alert has an unsubscribe link.
On your device: your browser keeps your cart and, for bakers, your login session in local storage so they survive a page refresh. We don't use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
How we use it
- To run shops, take orders, and show bakers the orders placed with them.
- To process payments and pay bakers, through Stripe.
- To send emails you asked for, like follow confirmations and porch light alerts.
- To find and fix errors and keep the service secure.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.
Who sees it
When you order from a shop, the baker who runs it sees your name, email, phone, and order so they can fill it. Bakers are independent sellers, not Bakeblock staff, and they handle your details under their own responsibility.
We also use a few companies to run the service. They only get what they need for their part:
- Stripe for payments and baker payouts.
- Supabase for logins and photo storage.
- Neon for our database.
- Vercel to host the website.
- Resend to send email.
- Sentry to catch errors, which can include technical details about the request that failed.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect people from fraud or harm.
How long we keep it
We keep shop and order records while a shop is open and for as long as we need them for payments, taxes, and disputes. Alert sign-ups stay until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from porch light alerts with the link in any alert.
- Ask to see, correct, or delete your information by writing to contact@bakeblock.app. We'll reply within 30 days. Some order records may need to be kept for payment and tax reasons.
Children
Bakeblock isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll tell bakers by email before it takes effect.
