Bakeblock

Terms of Service

Last updated October 6, 2026

These terms cover your use of Bakeblock, a service run by Dany in North Carolina, United States ("Bakeblock," "we," "us"). By opening a shop or placing an order, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Bakeblock. Questions go to contact@bakeblock.app.

What Bakeblock is

Bakeblock is software. It gives home bakers an online shop where neighbors can order and pay ahead for pickup. Bakeblock does not bake, sell, inspect, or deliver food. Each shop is run by an independent baker, and every sale is between that baker and their customer.

If you run a shop

  • You must be at least 18 and give us accurate information.
  • Keep your login private. You're responsible for what happens in your account.
  • You are the seller. You're responsible for your food, its safety and labeling, allergen information, your prices, filling orders, and handling refunds and complaints.
  • You're responsible for following the laws that apply to you, including your state's or county's cottage food rules, any permits or licenses, and taxes on your sales.
  • Only list things you're allowed to sell. No alcohol, cannabis, or anything illegal where you are.
  • You own your photos and descriptions. You let us display them so we can run your shop and show it to customers.

Fees and payments

  • Opening a shop is free, with no monthly fee.
  • Your shop's first $100 in sales carries no Bakeblock fee. After that, Bakeblock keeps 5% of each sale.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe charges its own processing fee on each order, separate from ours. To take payments you must also accept Stripe's terms for connected accounts.
  • Our fee is taken automatically when a customer pays. Customers pay the price you set.
  • If we change our fees, we'll tell bakers by email at least 30 days before the change.

If you order from a shop

Your order is with the baker, not with Bakeblock. Questions about ingredients, allergens, pickup, or refunds go to the baker. Check allergen details with the baker before you order. If something goes wrong and you can't reach them, write to us and we'll try to help.

Fair use

Please don't:

  • Break the law, mislead customers, or sell food you know is unsafe.
  • Sign other people up for alerts or send spam.
  • Try to break, overload, or get around the security of the service.
  • Copy or resell the service itself.

We can remove listings or suspend shops that break these terms.

Closing your shop

You can stop using Bakeblock anytime. Write to contact@bakeblock.app to close your shop. We may suspend or close a shop that breaks these terms, puts people at risk, or stays unused for a long time. Orders already paid for still need to be filled or refunded.

No guarantees

We work hard to keep Bakeblock running, but it is provided "as is." We can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. We aren't responsible for the food bakers sell, or for what bakers and customers do.

To the extent the law allows, Bakeblock isn't liable for indirect or lost-profit damages, and our total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of North Carolina. If there's a dispute, please write to us first so we can try to sort it out. If we can't, it will be handled in the courts of North Carolina.

Changes

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and for significant changes we'll tell bakers by email before they take effect. How we handle your information is in our Privacy Policy.
